Kim-Oh-No!
As a philosophy student, a lot of my life seems to revolve around essays. I just got a couple back, and the marks have inspired some new confidence about the ones I have to write over the next few weeks. Fitting Every Button in around my work remains a challenge, but I know I shouldn’t whine – Jake has a full time job and the more time consuming tasks in making the comic, and he never complains. I shall have to cultivate a more stoic outlook…

It was actually quite interesting drawing Mao with a different hairstyle, I’m glad that I was able to include her chopsticks in a natural way. I spent a bit of time researching kimonos to get the look right (and yes I did similar research for the bottom panels too). Looking back at the early drawings of Mao I’m now quite happy with the way her design has developed, particularly her hair (seriously its grown twice its size in a matter of hours)
