Cross Counter!
I’m very happy about how this page turned out. You might have noticed, but about the time I was colouring it I learned a new trick. I’ll be using it a lot more in the future – Jake is especially excited about it – but I want to find the right balance between under-utilisation and overexposure.

This week I watched classic Samurai exploitation flick, ‘Lady Snowblood’. It’s pretty easy to see the influence that this movie had on Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Kill Bill’, especially in the framing devices and character played by Lucy Liu. I’m quite pleased that we can bring gradients into Every Button now. The timing was pretty convenient as I’ve actually been adding hard comic book style lines into my life drawings, which are normally full of gradients and shading.
