Messing around with backgrounds! As you can see Jake and I enjoy doing funky things in the background for a couple of reasons. First of all it creates variety in what would otherwise be fairly repetitive panels (although there’s then a danger of making pages too busy) and secondly its just more fun for us. It can also help portray emotions but I don’t feel talented enough to say I’ve (successfully) used it for that. Of course, the disadvantage of all this is that if there’s already background detailing I can’t really do anything but make it consistent, lest I be castigated by the continuity fairy.

Just finished shaving off my beard! I haven’t been clean shaven for a good few months now. Its come to the point that I now don’t recognise my reflection in the mirror. Who are you sinister mirror man and what have you done with my reflection?
