Life continues for me in very much the same way as usual, loyal readers, which is to say mostly uneventfully. Of course, it’s come to the point that I have to actually start doing work for my course, but aside from that things are fun. Also, my TV decided to die on me, which means none of my precious fighting games for a little while. Where will I get my inspiration now!? (On reflection, having a dead TV isn’t much fun either. Ah, well; c’est la vie.)

I’m pretty lucky. My town has an institute for the study of Japanese arts and history and its right round the corner from my house. I attended a talk the other night about time travel manga. The lecturer who gave the talk showed us this really bizarre manga called ‘Thermae Romae’. Its the story of Ancient¬†Roman architect Lucius, who discovers a hidden tunnel underneath a spa that leads him to modern Japanese bath houses. Inspired by the innovations he finds there, he creates his own spa, Roma Thermae, bringing in the modern ideas to his time. What a bonkers idea, I love it. ¬†
